Mark Galer
Many wildlife shooters overlook the small E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS lens. On an APS-C lens it has an equivalent focal length of 315mm and is surprisingly sharp. Matched with a 24 Megapixel sensor it also captures files that can be cropped generously to frame tight. I have posted a Flickr gallery of images captured with this pocket rocket: https://www.flickr.com/photos/markgaler/sets/72157651634812438/ Welcome, dear visitor! bryangoff
Very nice and sharp Mark. Did you do any p.p. on the photo? Or is this straight of the camera? Bryan
Mark Galer
There is some post in LR. If you shoot with a telephoto in the rain the contrast and saturation is going to be low. It is also captured at ISO 2,500 so some noise reduction has been applied.
bryangoff
Very good for ISO 2500. What f stop would you say is the sharpest? Bryan
Kirkp
Very good for ISO 2500. What f stop would you say is the sharpest? Bryan The following test results suggest it's sharpest around f/5.6 when set to 55mm, and closer to f/8 at 135mm and 210mm. It seems to not degrade that much at the zoom limits, which is nice.http://www.photozone.de/sony_nex/729-sony55210f4563nex?start=1 bryangoff

This is a hidden gem of the system.
