New Ideas forum thread

I have several times been in contact with Sony with the feature request to get file size options on RAW-files on A7R2. They gave med a link to Sonys well hidden ideas forum and i posted the above idea.

Could the SA:Forum community help push ideas? I am sure there are alot of good ideas from Sony shooters here in this forum. Together we could start a movement :D

Hope we could push Sony together!

Twice I have asked the Sony support team and they tell

me to summit to ideas area on the Sony community forum.

Once in a while I'll just speak to them again.

In USA when our "elected representatives" treat

us like that, it's called "kicking the can down the

road" ... meaning it's bureaucratic obfuscation.

A common method is to institute an "ombudsman"

official who acts like an ear to hear you, but back

at the seat of power, he gets no respect. It's just a

paid job for some official's nephew to keep him off

the streets or whatever. Sony can do THAT, and it

will keep you running in circles til you give up.

I do feel a speck of remorse for stepping on your

hope and optimism ... but merely a speck. I offer

apologies if my reality based cynicism is "raining

on your parade", but I just call it as a I see it :-(

I think you make this feature request sound more trivial than it actually is. I know that it has been done before by ie Nikon, but basically a downsized raw file is no raw file anymore. Resizing breaks the Bayer grid distribution that makes raw files interpretable by raw developers. It would however be nice to have higher bitrate saving options than jpeg.
