Problems with A-6000 Version 3.20 Formware??

Recommended Posts

I updated my firmware on my two A6000s to version 3.20 yesterday and today started having problems with both cameras.  Camera 1 started showing internal temp warning and then shot down while recording video (I've never had that happen before).  Camera 2 is glitchy and not showing video on external monitor that I have been using for about 4 months, even though it is still working on camera 1.  I hear an audible click and then the monitor shut off.

Is this a glitch with the firmware update?  Has anyone else had these problems?

I upgraded my a6000 to 3.2 back in august when it was first released. The only thing i noticed was faster AF in low light.

It's possible your may need a faster SD card now, there is a note about it the firmware release notes.

https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=ILCE6000&LOC=3#/downloadTab

"Adds support for recording movies in the XAVC S format that supports high bit rates (NTSC: 60p/30p/24p PAL: 50p/25p)

Notes:
  • When recording a movie in the XAVC S format, you must use a Class 10 or faster SDXC card
  • If you format the memory card, all of the data will be erased. Make sure that the data on the card is backed up before formatting the card"

Are you recording at a different bit rate now? that could be affecting your monitor and internal temps.

I have read some accounts where a6300 uses could no longer record at 100m on their SD cards that claimed 100mb/s write speed after their firmware upgrade. Upgrading to a card with over 120mb/s write speed was required.
