oneeye
I'm using the Sony F43M flash (on my A7II) sometimes with a Vello "bounce dome" ( part #bd-c430II ) on this flash for a dispersed light rather than the angling the flash itself for a light bounce. The question: should I increase the intensity index of the flash to compensate for the semi-transparency of the white plastic cover - or "dome" as it is called? This Vello part was made for a Cannon flash but it also fits on the Sony 43 flash.

rscottcampbell
Hi there. In my experience shooting 100's of events using various on flash bounce/diffuser tools, I have to bump up flash power from 1/2 stop to a full stop depending on the diffuser. I had to experiment with each one to get what I wanted. Also, generally the flash range is greatly diminished even with forward fire diffusers. So yes, you'll probably need to bump up flash power and watch your light fall off. Good luck, Scott
