SEL35F28Z update issue outside US

Hello,

 

Following this news about the SEL35F28Z firmware update 02 issue, there is still no official press release outside of US (link) to confirm that Sony will support affected lenses in the rest of the World.

 

I just bought a SEL35F28Z on Amazon France (I'm in France) and when receiving it, I couldn't update it because of this bug. I sent it immediately to the Sony Center in France explaining the problem and linking the US information, and they sent it back to me repaired (upgraded to 02).

 

No questions, no further checks, free support, so I guess they are aware of the problem and take it in charge as said.

Had a similar problem updating the FE 4/70-200 on an A7II, after numerous attempts of following the on computer instructions to 'follow the instructions on the camera' which just said 'follow the instructions on the computer'. Such Joy!

 

Long story short, I was lucky to have a second body, an A7r, where the update went on without a hitch.

 

So, go beg, borrow or steal a second body...

We're not talking the same problem. Sony won't help anyone freely having problem upgrading it's lens. In such case, try with another USB cable, computer or A7 body like you did. This SEL35F28Z is an official bug that's why it's covered by support
