Impossible save "Quality" to 1 and/or 2 on Mode Dial (not M1, M2 etc)

I use the Modes marked "1" and "2" on the Mode Dial and I have saved a number of different settings to either "1" or "2". Very useful.

 

There are however some setting that I cannot save, e.g. "Quality" (Raw or Jpeg) or "Black & White" in "Creative Style".

 

Can the above setting not be saved, or am I too stupid to do it?

 

Is there a list of saveable setting, and if so, where?

What camera are you using?

 

I don't know about raw or jpg (I only shoot raw), but on the original A7r I had one of the custom functions on the mode dial set to "Black & white".*

 

All I had to do was to set the creative style to "Black & white" and then save the custom function on the desired slot (in my case slot 2).

 

*Yes, I shoot only raw and the b/w creative style is applied to jpgs only, and discarded by Lightroom, but it is really useful to be able to view the scene directly in b/w

Only the settings available under the first menu headings can se saved to either custom 1 or 2,, if they don't appear there you can't save them unfortunately
