Sony A7R II Aperture control not working

Not sure what's going on, but just noticed the Aperture control is not working..,tried couple of native  FE lenses(55mm Zeiss F1.8, 28mm Sony F2). Stays fully open, when powered on and doesn't close on adjusting aperture(in A & M modes)..    The f-stop values do adjust, but aperture doesn't change. 

 

Any ideas?

Usual advice is try try to clean the camera body lens electrical contacts, , you don't state if the images are overexposed , is that happening?

Most e-mount lenses open wide to focus, and stop down once single autofocus is acquired. Set to AF-S and half-press at f/22; it should go black. The newer 50mm FE is an exception, where it does not open up for autofocus.
