A6000 : Show and tell

I thought it would be great to have a show and tell. Show us your pictures from the a6000 and tell us your story moving to A6000.

 

I am a Canon shooter from way back. I wanted a smaller kit and 4/3 was to small, still wanted Bokeh. Since Sony is innovating I am loving the cameras. I have a 2 lens kit and have added the SEL 35mm f1.8.

 

The picture is from Lahinia, Maui and is some shops on front street framed by trees. Shopping's not my thing, so while wife window shopping I'm shopping for windows. (50mm 6.3 ISO100)

Ich komme von Minolta und bin logisch dann auf Sony umgestiegen. An der A6000 gefällt mir das Format, die Größe und das geringe Gewicht. Die erzielbaren Ergebnisse sprechen für sich - siehe meine drei Beispielbilder!

Mein einziger Kritikpunkt an der A6000 ist der Energieverbrauch: keine Fototour ohne Reserveaccu!

 

 

I come from Minolta and am logically then switched to Sony. On the A6000 I like the format, size and light weight. The achievable results speak for themselves - see my three sample images!

My only criticism of the A6000 is the energy consumption: no photo tour without second accu.

Why don't you get you an battery hand grip, holding two batteries, which should be suffcient for longer photo trips and more shots!

After using compacts and M43 cameras, I thought it was time to join the APS-C sensor club, and the a6000 seemed the best way to go.

I currently own the Kit lens and the 25mm 1.8. But have now ordered the Zeiss 16-70mm to replace the kit.

 

These images are all shot with the kit, and edited in Photoshop RAW.

I got my a6000 about 3 weeks ago. I am coming from an NEX5T. I have the kit lens, the 50 1.8, the 55-210, and the cheap a mount 35 1.8 from Amazon.

Here are a couple shots I took with my a6000 out in Colorado.  I was impressed with how well it handled in lowlight.  The sunset shot (handheld) was shot with the Zeiss 32mm f/1.8 attached, and the night shot with the Zeiss 12mm f/2.8 (on tripod).  I have a long history with Sony A-mount cameras, but just bought into E-mount this past year, first with the NEX6, and then later the a6000.  I love these very capable little cameras.

Long time Canon shooter doing weddings and events in Maui, Hawaii.  Bought a Sony RX10 right after I had upgraded to the 5DmkIII and that was my downfall lol.  Bought 2 a6000s and the a7mkII late last year to complete the transition.  Now all my Canon gear sits lonely and forgotten in the closet while I shoot all of my professional jobs with the a6000 and a7m2.

Hi! I am a wedding and portrait photographer. I am a Canon shooter but all the time was looking for compact and fast cameras - as a Canon I m using Canon 5D Mark III with a L portrait optics (35/50/85 mm). Last tme I have tryed to shoot with Sony a6000 and was realy impressed - Zeiss and Sigma art prime lenses are realy amasing - they are realy sharp and provide fantastic colors and nice contrast. Now I am in proccess to move on this platform.

I am a portrait photographer in Mississippi.. and by portrait photographer I mean I take photos of my children while they're standing still and nobody in particular ever pays me for my work!

 

I recently moved out of the iPhone system into the A6000.  I ordered it with the 2 kit lenses (16-50, 55-210) but immediately upgraded to a 30 year old Minolta MD 50mm 1.7 that I laid out a solid $10 to acquire.

 

So far in my study of photography I've managed to learn just how shockingly little I know about the subjetc!

 

Anyway.. All I lack is skills and gear to start getting lots better shots of my models.

I come from the MFT folks (and before that, I was on Canon APS-C): Even as the system is compact and was good enough for me, one thing was always nagging at me: Since I like to do spherical Panoramas (360x180), I went through a couple of heavy weight solutions using FF circular fish eyes and a speed booster ( http://www.mopswerk.de/pole-panorama-lenses-comparison/). For the MFT system there is no out of the box solution to do a whole sphere with 4 single round shots.

After going through much more fisheye lens iterations I am happy to use a 7.5 Samyang FIsh Eye Lens for MFT converted to E Mount.

In the end, with the A6000 I have a perfect compact and lightweight (~600g) solution available for doing Pole/Cliff Hanger Panoramas:

My reason for getting the A6000 is not very tech savvy ...

I saw an Open Box Special clearance sale A6000 with

kit lens for $350 and figgered it really only cost me $285

cuz I was already about to buy a Nex battery for $65 so

for well under $300 difference, why not go for the extra

body and lens as well ?

apparently this forum does not facilitate uploading any

images from local storage ... and ALL my storage is on

local drives ... so just take my word for it, I had some

way cool pix to show you, but screwdatt, must be the

same bastiddz that keep on killing Kenny ! Anywho,

use your imagination ... thaz the most important tool

available to all of us. Cool pix, right ?
