Extended battery operation

Thank you. If I understand the video correctly I need something like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rechargeable-CCD-TR516-CCD-TR555-CCD-TR3000-CCD-TR3300/dp/B00HNIK2IC/ref=pd_cp_computers_1

Then I have to modify the charger plate so it has an outgoing power lead, in line fuse and socket.

I also need something like this to give me the dummy battery to put in the camera

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Adapter-SLT-A33L-SLT-A55V-SLT-A55VL/dp/B0083EQS3I

That all looks like a workable solution. Thanks.

I haven't tried this, but can't you connect an external battery pack, usually used with phones and tablets, to the MicroUSB port that is used for charging the battery?  (Will try this tonight.)

As far as I know, you can't take pictures while charging the battery through MicroUSB part. Additionally I doubt that the 5 Volt will be a high enough voltage to operate the camera.

This unit is not suitable for the sony A7 it seems. I have bought this one which seems to work correctly. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ex-Pro%C2%AE-Replacement-AC-PW20-ACPW20-Adapter/dp/B00HU5BIOU

I am using on 12v vehicle power via an inverter (which I already own) for a project this weekend. I may buy the battery pack recommended by Joshi later.

Hello all, I likes the options listed here and after some thinking I have 1 more, I got this from fleabay a 7.2V 5300mAh Ni-Mh rechargeable battery pack, I am happy that it's at the correct voltage and there is no inverter boosting up the voltage and the true current is not at the rated on the Amazon packs and cost $50-$80 and this one comes with a charger for $18.50. I will just add a jack & plug a 5.5 mm so I will interface with the dummy battery that goes in the A7, and add a plug to the charger so I can charge the battery pack.

Now the bad, it's not in a case but my pocket will work and it's weighs about the same and about the same size. It's not a lithium polymer battery but for $18.50 worth a try.

Update you later.

Christopher
