I cant get the full speed of the burst

I have problem with burst mode on my A6000 camera. I was shooting the Horse jumping competition and after 60 minutes shooting my camera just slow down from 11 fps to maybe 5-6 fps. Since then I cant get the full speed of the burst. Not sure if I mistakenly changed something when I was shooting. Please help, if somebody has idea what is happening with my camera. Hopefully is only the simple issue. Thanks Robert

Maybe did you accidentally put the camera in "slow burst" mode (i.e. 5fps instead of 11)? The icons look pretty similar, so it's a fairly easy thing to overlook if done accidentally. The symbol for the fast burst should have a stylized "S" in the middle, if I'm not mistaken (I don't own an A6000).

 

Keep in mind that to be able to shoot at 11fps the shutter time has to be fast enough, so if the light fades (you mentioned happened after an hour or so) this may be the reason as well.

 

If these two possible motives don't apply it might have been a matter of overheating, or the obvious one, a fault with the camera.
