Batis 85 1.8 vs. Canon 85 1.8

Has someone compared image quality of this two lenses?

I know handling, design,... is bette on Batis, but is it worth the price?

I haven't compared the two but I have shot with the Canon 85mm f1.8 and found contrast to be mediocre. Sharpness and AF is pretty good but images are kind of flat for my tastes. Booked is also nothing that I particularly cared for.

I haven't used the Batis myself but from whatever sample images I have seen it has a wonderful pop to them with excellent contrast and sharpness. I would take the Batis over even the Canon 85mm f1.2 though I will sometimes miss the f1.2 advantage. The rendering of the 85mm f1.2 is to my liking but AF is a bit slow and the lens is very heavy.

There are definitely pros and cons between the Canon 85mm f1.2 and the Batis 85mm f1.8 but I would hardly consider the Canon 85mm as a contender especially since currently you can't even get reliable AF from the 85mm f1.8 on any Sony camera.

The difference between a $400 lens and a $1200 lens, hopefully, be much apparent.
