Canon FL lenses hard to mount for anyone else?

Has anyone else had trouble mounting FL lenses to the FD/FL adapters that are currently available? Any tips or tricks you have learned to get them to mount easier? I finally just got my 35/2.8 FL to mount yesterday and I am afraid to unmount it. Do folks buy multiple adapters and just leave them mounted to the adapters?

I have been through a lot of FD adapters, and I did have trouble attaching some of the cheaper ones (even had to file some of slots down to make them fit).

Ironically, I also found the cheaper ones to be the most consistent in terms of being able to focus to infinity.

Ultimately, my advice is to buy a few different types of the cheaper ones, and use trial and error to match a lens with an adapter, so that your lenses focus to infinity.

It is very useful to make sure that manual lenses don't focus past infinity, as for landscapes you can often just set the lens to infinity and not have to worry too much about focus.

I finally had success with my lens adapter. It involved a weird series of having the adapter in the locked position, turning the lens mount of the lens part of the way. opening the lens adapter, and then the lens mount would turn more locking the lens onto the adapter. It's a lot easier using the FD mounts as you just turn the lense till it locks into place.
