Transcoding for Edit - FCP & Premiere

I am a a99 shooter wondering what folks are using to transcode their footage from the AVCHD format to FCP or Premiere ready formats? I have discovered a few apps and even purchased one but it had very uneven results in the transcoding especially for Premiere. The programs I have used so far are: Ackrok HD Video Converter for Mac & Free AVCHD to MOV

 

Can anyone suggest any rock solid solutions that don't cost a million $$ ???

Premiere CC2015 does not need  to be transcoded, it should just play fine.
