V10mm : when wide is not wide enough this lens seems to convince.

A pity they don't allow filters but I imagine with a 10mm it will be difficult to use filters....

But yes, think I will go for the 10mm lens...or wait for the Laowa 12mm, difficult matters.

No, I know no 10mm but f2.8,  very curious how it will perform for astrophotography...

if you did not see it, here is a post with many examples of the 10mm Heliar

and new image from yesterday

Perfect example of what I wrote about posts back:

.... ....... .. ..... ... .. ...... ... .. .... ...... ...the ultrawide

problem results in a compact miniaturized world in

the center of the frame surrounded by expansive

stretched out imagery of closer objects. Lenses of

the ultra-ultrawide class exaggerate this, failing to

transition gradually from the miniaturized to the

expansive, yielding a picture-in-a-picture effect.

Truly you have made excellent aesthetic use of the

picture-in-picture effect. But italso emphasizes that

if one insists on a rectalinear image, somewhere

around 15mm is the limit for including more and

more angle of view. After that, tiny amounts of extra

field of view are available but only at the cost of a

shrunken "15mm view" which issurrounded by an

interesting border, a border made from stretched

out imagery of that tiny increase in angle of view.

AS I said, you put that to great use. I just find it a

drag to run up against the laws of geometry [and

maybe phsics?] in my pursuit of wider views. Thaz

why I once had a "circut" type camera [can record

over 360 degr but only as a strip].

If you wanna see an amazing angle of view in all

360zillion points of the compass, see "360 cities".

Must say I'm happy with the Voigt 10mm, as landscaper it was rather common for me to use my Sony 16-35mm in a vertical position to make a Pano of 4 to 8 pictures.

This gives me the possibility to include as much as possible of the dramatic sky in the image.

Like to make landscapes at sunrises and sunsets and the Voigt makes it even more possible. Since, at this moment, I don't have the possibility to use filters I'm using to the sky-HDR play-memories app.

Ordered the bomb-set-up but it isn't in my possession at this moment.

On the other way using 100-150mm filters or bigger in windy conditions is always very difficult, it's almost like a sail and results in blurred images.

In these windy conditions without these filters the results are much better (my experience).

During the making of the attached image the wind was between 40-60 km/h but just set me as much as possible between the wind and my tripod-A7R2-10mm combo.

Could easily use the bracketing feature as well but this app gives me the possibility to verify the shot immediately .

This is a bit of an embarrassing question as I should know the answer

Correcting barrel distortion

With my wide zooms I apply the auto profile in Lightroom then I have to adjust each image to correct barrel distortion, usually noticible on close objects, this is the same on my ff with 17-40 can my crop with 10-22,

I had put this down to the fact that they are zooms and the profile just gets you in the ball park,

With a prime can you correct all barrel distortion with an automatic profile?

Yes, a proper profile can correct that type of distortion.

Having said that, I don't notice any barreling on this lens.  There is a little bit of vignetting(easily corrected in post), and some lack of sharpness in the corners.
