Aperture would not change when using metabones speedbooster with canon 24-70mkii lens on Sony A7rII

Hey guys, would love to have some help here. Just did a shoot over the weekend, and was using the a7rii on s35 mode with metabones speedbooster on latest firmware to shoot a short video. There were times when the aperture and other functions show 0.0 or -.- (meaning no connection), and after reattaching the lenses, they would appear. However one thing that happened at a later stage, was that when adjusting the aperture from like a 2.8 to 5.6, there were times when nothing happens to what is captured with the sensor. Normally, the scene would darken as im increasing the aperture. Another phenomenom would be the screen would respond in accordance to the aperture, but on hitting record, it would jump back to the highest aperture rate which is like a 2.0, no matter what the original aperture was set as. Has anyone experienced something like this before?

I have had this with old lenses from pre-digital era. can you test the lens on a digital Canon? Mine gave an error message with the Canon.
