Macro Snail Photography

Hello folks,

just wanted to share some images I did some weeks ago. So on mothers-day I started searching for some small snails.

Especially small ones because if you shoot macro, you have a pretty narrow depth of field. So after 1 hour of searching I finally found some snails.

You probably won't belief it but this snail has half the size of my small fingernail. But still they were sometimes still moving too fast, to get a sharp image.

Additionally I tested with this image the Photoshop Plugin "Fractalius". With it you get some "energetic" Effects. I tried to implement it as carefully as possible.

What do you think?

Thank you Seb,

hmm you are right. I'm not sure what's been causing this but in the original post the snails are much sharper. The snail on the back is not sharp. It was moving too fast so focus stacking didn't work ;o)
