Sony A7ll and an MD Rokkor- x 85mm f1.7 problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I just went to the local shops, to get a cheap adapter, supposedly  Sony E mount to A lens.

However, it turns out, that the A mounts, are for the later, autofocus series of Minolta lenses.

 Neither shop had any solutions.

Apparently the Rokkor - x   85mm 1.7 is a rare lens, due to not many being made.

I sort of forgot about it, when the old XE 1 broke, because they "Supposedly " are impossible to fix.

Any help with finding an adapter, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wally.

PS, I did look on Amazon UK, and yes, there is an E mount adapter for Rokkor x MD lenses.

All the negative comments, are saying it might fit the Sony NEX, but it does not fit the Sony A7 series.

Hi, I use one of these (the link is for ebay.it, just copy and paste the number 191195992265 into the ebay search field of your country-specific site):

Minolta MC MD Mount Lens to Sony NEX-5 7 3 F5 5R C3 E-mount MD-NEX Adapter Ring

I wrote more extensively about them here on the forum:

They are really well made, especially for the price.

I'm using them with both an A7r and a Nex 7: perfect fit.

And I've bought them for: Contax, Minolta MC/MD, Leica M, Olympus OM.

Besides the light leak problem in specific conditions (that I talked about in the forum post linked above), that's an easy fix with the Minolta, that many have not experienced at all, and that for normal use is noticeable only with the Contax, I find these particular brand really quite good.

Obviously compared to a Novoflex they will probably be inferior, but again we are talking 14 times the price for what is basically an hollow metal tube...
