Sony A7 + LA-EA4 + Tamron 70-200/2.8

Hi guys,

 

I am trying to use my Tamron 70-200/2.8 with the adapter and I face issue : no AF at all

 

hoever it works with some other like tamron 180/3.5 macro, minota 100/2.8 macro .....

 

any idea ?

I found that :

Sell the Tamron and buy the Sigma equivalent. It's covers the same range (70-200mm), is just as fast (constant f2.8) and is cheaper. It performs incredibly well on both my A6000 and A7ii with the LA-EA4 adapter. Some say the build quality is not as good as the Tamron or Sony equivalent lenses but I haven't had any quality issues with it.

That's my first issue with tamron

all other tamron lenses works (the one I have tried)

I mailed tamron france about it trying to get an answer

Hey guys,

 

I have a Alpha a7r and the Tamron AF 70-200 F/2.8 (IF) MACRO 77 mm dia A001 and it does not function with the LA-EA4 adapter but all my other lenses work fine.

 

The other lenses I have are the Tamron macro 90mm, Tamron 70-300mm and they both work absolutely ok.

 

Can someone please tell me how to resolve this, cause this is stupid and extremely frustrating.

 

I now have a lens that does not function with the camera.

Apparently it depends a lot on the version of this lens

Tamron at some points changed some chips and/or programation inside those chips 

 

the result is it is not usable on LA-EA4  (or 2) with AF

I mailed tamron, they have nothing to say about it ...

I am very happy not to have to spend more money on the fast Tele zoom

The lens has been repaired in france by nikken France ( http://www.nikkenfrance.com/ )

they are an  official repair point for many brand (it include canon and tamron)

 

they changed the PCB of the lens and made a cleaning of it for 140€ including tax (remebered price)
