M Adaptor for Transmitting Lens Data

Do you think any third parties will create Leica M Adaptors for the A7 that actually transmit lens data to the camera (for the leica coded lenses)?

Since Leica lenses don't produce lens data,

it would seem that one must manually "dial"

the data into that adapter so that it can then

transmit it to the exif file. That seems rather

ambitious yet still a half-baked feature. If it

never sees production, or if it is produced

but proves unreliable, no will be sooprised.

 

Even if it were reliable and affordable, it 's

got an excellent chance of producing a giant

"Yawwwnnn" in the marketplace. Much ado

about nothing ... or nothing anybody needs.

I find the best M adaptor is the close focus Voigtlander. No data, not that the lenses are coded anyway, but it's nice to get closer focus with the 28mm and 50mm Summicrons

These guys used to make one, but (at least for now) it has been discontinued. You might try to give them a shout to see if they plan to start production again.
