I've seen a mention of a new 35mm f1.4 FE lens (Zeiss) but not a 25mm?

I'm new to sony Mirrorless and just brought an A6000, I've seen you can use an FE lens on an E-Mount, but are there any implications of this? I know a 35mm will result in a 52mm (ish) on an APS sensor, but anything else I should know?

I'd love to have an f1.4.

Sorry if that has been answered before.

I've always thunk of the Sony APSc line as the reincarnation

of the Olympus Pen-F line. [The digital Oly Pen is NOT that].

So I never expect a crazy giant lens line like Nikon or Canon.

But OTOH, the simple small lens selection for the Pen F was

well balanced as far as it went. The Sony APSc line is NOT.

It's more like a few spotty selections from yet another crazy

giant lens line that is prolly never gonna exist cuz it will never

be justifiable.

Fortunately for myself, I use these bodies mainly as "film

backs" for adapted legacy lenses, so when the whole thing

goes belly up, and my discontinued batteries no longer take

a charge, I'll just turn to another way of using FF legacy EOS

and Nikon glass ... like EOS and Nikon bodies ?

But for those of you hungering a for modern major system all

based on Sony APSc ? Rotzaruck, amigos. The technology

has that potential, but in the real world, not really realistic.

I've been shooting NEXes for about 5 years now and regarding the lens lineup especially for the 24MP models we all know the story ... just have a look at what Fuji have managed in 3 years. Anyway, in good light I prefer the output from my Sony sensors and can't wait for some serious fast glass.

That's what a bird whispered into my ears...

25 f1.4

16-50 f2.8 - 4

50-150 f4-5.6

All APS-C E-mount!

Has this bird done any more whispering?  :) The 25 f/1.4 would be tremendous (but pricey?)

But what really caught my eye was the 16-50. I'm not all that thrilled with my kit 16-50 PZ, and I've been nosing around for a possible replacement. I've been shooting with 3 primes instead (Sigma 19 and 30, and Sony SEL50F18) but there are times when I don't want to change lenses.

So if this rumor is still credible, I might not blow my year's budget on a Zeiss 16-70 just yet.

I'm not a sony camera expert but based on what I have read since I first got into photography last may 2014 , things are changing for sony apsc with the amount of people buying the a6000 ( i think ). So hopefully they would take care of the emount apsc market.

16-50 f2.8 - 4 > if the image quality is good in this one this would replace my kit.

25 1.4 would be the lens that gets used most of the time

Hi , so you have the kit lens and the sel 50 sigma 30 and 19 right.

So if you compare the different focal lengths of the kit lens vs

sigma 19 vs kitlens 19mm

sigma 30 vs kitlens 30mm

sel50 vs kitlens 50mm

I know the sel 50 is very good but is the sigma 19 better than kit 19?

I seem to get better results with the Sigma. The pictures are much sharper overall, and the corners are no comparison.

I see such varied opinions of the kit lens. I wonder if there are just a bunch of bad copies out there, along with some better ones.

I have 4 lenses for my still new a6000 but really wish there was a native superzoom. 100-400 in a small package, similar to the 55-210, would be perfect. It's the smaller lighter equivalent to a FF 150-600. 11 fps is amazing for sports and wildlife, but without enough reach, it's pointless.
