Need help

I have a fotodiox nikon to Sony E adaptor that fails to enable focus on Nikon 17-35 f2.8, nikon 60 mm 2.8 and nikon 85 1.8. Yet the unit focused an ancient nikon shift lens well. Any suggestions appreciated

Have you moved the selector switch on the lenses to Manual Focus?

The fotodiox nikon to Sony E is manual focus only. Are you saying that you can not physicly turn the focus rings?  Or are you saying you cannot focus to infinity?

I suspect you will have to use an different adapter for the newer lenses.

The basic F-mount to e-mount adapter may not work with the AF-S series of lenses.

You may need to get the Fotodiox PRO version.

Thanks for the reply. The lenses are switched to manual focus. I can't get good focus throughout the focus range. I'm guessing now, after retesting the system that the adaptor works only with older lenses. I've ordered a meta ones designed for modern nikon lenses.mwhen it arrives I'll see what happens

That will fix it, assuming you ordered the

appropriate model. MetaBones stuff is top

quality. I was using a borrowed adapter to

fit old Nikkors to FE mount. Works fine on

the old lenses, which is all I have anyway,

but I do hafta return the borrowed item so

I bought the MetaBones. The difference in

construction is huuuuuge. Price difference

is $75 and very clearly worth every nickel.
